Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Director of Maintenance, Executive Director

Location: Park Ridge Nursing Center, Jacksonville, FL

Status: Non-exempt

COMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Performing minor operating maintenance, service and repair of the interior and exterior of the community
  •  Responding to maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair in their rooms
  •  Maintaining positive communications with local fire marshal, building inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community
  •  Knowledge of building equipment, building codes and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical) in health care facilities

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  High school diploma or GED
  •  Experience with building maintenance (painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical, carpet cleaning, pressure washing, etc.)
  •  Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, and building systems
  •  Flexibility with schedule including availability to work weekends
  •  Must enjoy working with the senior population

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic caustic chemicals. The environment is characteristic of a facility in which healthcare is provided to the frail elderly. The noise level is usually moderate.
